Snow's Story

Snow

On a warm autumn day , Caleb and his father were on their way to a nearby lake for a fishing trip. They had planned a peaceful day, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. As they arrived at the lake and stepped out of the car, they spotted a small, scruffy dog by the roadside, looking lost and lonely.

The dog seemed thin, with tangled fur, but its golden coat shimmered in the sunlight, hinting at a once happy life. It looked to be around a year old, clearly a stray. It sat quietly, occasionally lifting its head to watch the passing people, as if silently pleading for help.

Caleb and his father exchanged a look. They both knew they couldn’t just leave the dog there. His father decided to approach it slowly, calling out gently. To their surprise, the dog didn’t run away. Instead, it cautiously walked up to them, wagging its tail weakly, as if trusting them.

His father squatted down, reaching out to pet it, and the dog suddenly jumped up, playfully nudging his fishing rod as if to join in on the adventure. “Looks like it wants to fish with us,” Caleb’s father laughed.

Without hesitation, they decided to take the dog home. Caleb carefully placed the dog into the car, and they drove back to their house. When they arrived, Caleb's parents were initially surprised, but after seeing the dog’s gentle eyes, they agreed to let it stay.

Caleb named the dog Snow, inspired by the golden hue of its coat that reminded him of sunlight after a snowfall.

At first, Snow was shy and nervous in her new surroundings. She often hid in corners, unsure of the unfamiliar environment. But Caleb patiently spent time with her every day, feeding her and taking her outside to enjoy the sunshine. After a few days, Snow began to relax, gradually trusting Caleb, and started to seek affection.

Now, Snow is an integral part of the family. She loves spending time with Caleb and his father, especially enjoying the outdoor activities like playing fetch and chasing birds in the backyard. Her gentle and playful nature brings endless joy and warmth to their home.
